Plenty of inputs (4 HDMI) and outputs. I don''t use even a tenth of the features on this unit...you really need to check out the manual to see what you can do.
The one feature that I use a lot is the PureSound mode. This is simply the sound output mode that bypasses all the digital signal and multi-channel processing. (It even turns off the receiver''s front display.) You get just stereo signal output, either at the pre-amp outputs or the speaker outputs. 
The sound is fantastic - typical of Yamaha. Some people find the output of the Yamaha receivers to be a bit on the bright side. I would tend to agree. Overall, highly recommended receiver. The only drawback is its size it is a little big and heavy, but that is typical for that class of devices.
